Having a whole four-day weekend really helped get some sense back. Positivity, though not impossible to find, can be hard to maintain when you’re constantly feeling exhausted.
Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland
But things seem to be getting back on track. Went to Lake Gardens on my own just because I can. Somehow being a tourist in my own country, seeing new things is the familiar, can be stimulating.
I decided that it’s time to start scrapbooking. I needed some craft materials but sourcing them is a tough task in itself.
Then I found out about Art Friends in The Curve. Believe it or not, it is the largest art & craft store I have seen in PJ thus far.
The myraid of craft materials would make craft enthusiasts salivate and flit around like a butterfly in Spring.
Some of the things you can get: Sketch books, all sorts of papers, pens including Copico and acid-free, easels, paints and paintbrushes, stamps and ink pads, boxes, stickers, organising containers, mini trees for geographical projects… the list goes on. Can you imagine my joy?
There are a mixture of pricier items and surprisingly affordable ones, something I realise other shops don’t offer.
I got most of what I wanted, but I couldn’t find the Distress Ink Pads I’ve been searching for lately.
In the end the scrapbook I got was about RM35, the 24 patterned cardstock set was RM12 and the acid-free pen was roughly RM6.90.
I say roughly because I became a member (RM10 for 2 years membership) so I did get a discount on everything.
Let the craft mania begin.
When I say drinks, I don’t mean anything alcoholic. Some food stalls open to wee hours here so a midnight snack can end up being a full meal.
Chilling at Bangsar
I like that culture – nothing beats sitting down and chatting while having anything from fizzy drinks to fruit juices, teas, coffees and typical Malaysian yummies.
Especially after the usual Friday night event.
My poetry muse has been gone for a while. She’d slipped away while I was busy at my desk, went off to see worlds I have yet to explore.
I was worried she might not come back. But I think…this might just be it. I started small and came up with 4 in a day. Time to get the ball rolling again.
Sharing lifts the burden and finds the constant in a fast-paced world where everything is changing. It transcends the time difference across continents.
Finding yourself all over again after graduation can be a difficult path. But knowing that you aren’t alone makes it a little more bearable.
Watched Captain America with my brother and cousin. It was as good as they said it would be.
And it’s much better with lots of popcorn, nuggets, drinks and good company who know when Stan Lee appears and need not be asked to wait to watch the after credits.
Laksa for lunch in the office. Food keeps you going. Although it does make you drowsy afterwards.
