Family gatherings can go either way – they could involve uncomfortable silence and/or small talk with ‘jokes’ that are not quite funny, or they don’t.
I am relieved that it was the latter.
I’m usually not one for crowds. I suppose it is different when there is the effort to stay in touch over the years.
